Making of the costume for ‘After the Party’ I used a basic bodice pattern I already had, made a gathered skirt, and spent most of the time making sure the sleeves puffed up in the 80s style I wanted. Not many progress photos as it didn’t take long! See the final product in the film here.

Edwardian style skirt, tartan fabric was used for dresses and skirts as early as the 1600s.

The bonus of a corset as a costume is that it’s easily adjusted for the actor even if it wasn’t made with them!

Handstitched eyelets, very painful, will not attempt again.
